Dinner Under the Bridges (DUTB) - A Photo Essay

Shuchi September 28, 2015

Oops, we did it again.

For the second time round, Komeeda and 29. teamed up to create a unique Brooklyn picnic flanked with a stupendous skyline, a mystical sunset, fabulous company and a seasonal, picnic & Indian-inspired tasting menu.

As we bid farewell to the NYC summer, 34 guests folded their jeans and took a [low] seat on our Dinner Under the Bridges PopUp table! First hosted in 2014, due to popular demand, this year we decided to re-create the experience twice - September 17 and 24. And both nights were magical, to say the least!

With a warm breeze, unstoppable conversations and an ever-obliging host (who lit up the candles every time they blew off - dedication!), the experience was only elevated by the idea of having a (no kitchen!) Indian-inspired tasting menu that screamed summer. Yes, we strive on challenges. So what did we serve? Keep reading.

(PS- Multi tasking i.e. cheffing, plating, cleaning, photographing & dish washing sometimes leads to less-than-perfect pictures, but hope these give you a glimpse of the experiences we created!)

On the menu was a Chilled cauliflower soup w/ grapes & sour cream , followed by a Zucchini Noodle & Spicy Tomato Chutney Salad topped with oodles of Fresh Corn & Gouda Cheese.

We then settled into some scrumptious plates of mini Chicken Keema Bunny Chows (Open Top Sliders) w/ Beetroot Raita (unfortunately I could not picture this, but oh the colors!) and a Cripsy Wonton Cup w/ Coconut Mushrooms & Carrot Butter.

The final savory course was a plate of Shrimp Pilaf w/ Charred Cabbage Sabji & Arugula Chutney.

And there was dessert. There is always dessert! Cardamom Atta Cake w/ Fresh Fig Custard & Burnt Sugar.

The evening wore into the night, and as the guests found new friends, we thrived on their exclamations & enjoyment! A big thanks to everyone who came, and till next time, stay hungry.
